Wardrobe Top-Ups

There are certain items that are necessities for the closet all year round and then others that come and go as the season’s and trends change.  This summer (or just for the start of summer, lets be honest we aren’t only going to buy 3 things the entire season!) But I have picked 3 pieces that you wont regret purchasing. These items will come in handy more than once, trust me.

These block mid heel sandals are the perfect shoes to wear to that Out-door wedding, the Polo or the Races.  Not only will they save your feet from aches and pains due to the middy height but the block heel will save you from sinking into the grass and potential embarrassing falls.  The very neutral and bang on trend sandals will go with just about everything. They will also be great with jeans and are the perfect heel for shorts.

The Boucle Blazer, a smart/casual fabric, a smart fit and an extremely flattering cut is the perfect jacket to throw on this summer. Whether you are off to a formal event, wear it over a dress or it will look super chic over a little strappy vest and jeans to add that extra layer on a slightly cooler evening.

Metallics and sequins are an absolute must for evenings during the summer months. Hopefully you wont have to cover the sparkle up with a jacket and it’s the easier way to jazz up your jeans for an evening out. You will look oh so radiant with a bit of a tan and I just love the way light catches these fabrics in romantic candle lit lighting.  If you are looking for a show stopping red carpet moment this gorgeous metallic vest looks even more phenomenal worn together with its matching skirt for a more formal event. You will dazzle and certainly be the belle of the ball in this outfit!

Fancy Floor-skimmers

Every so often a function arises that forces us to get the long gowns out.  The length of the dress may only be to hide the lily white legs, it could be for a white tie event, the Opera or perhaps dinner with the Duchess of Cambridge, whatever the reason, when they do crop up I know it can be a task and a half to find a non-frumpy, well fitted floor length dress that wont break the bank.  If we could all wear Alexander McQueen it might be slightly easier to find, but seen as you aren’t exactly going to wear it that often (unless you are a regular at these sort of events) then it definitely is not an investment piece.  If you are one of the lucky, or unlucky (depending on how you view it) ladies that has a fancy “do” in the diary, fear not, I have done the hard work and hopefully you will slot right into one of the fabulous floor skimming finds.

The Working Week

So many people say that they don’t like spending money on work clothes and they despise getting dressed for work.  Most people work 5 day weeks, this means you spend 80% of your time at work, that’s a lot of time spent not dressing well and feeling uninspired.  So if you want to look good 100% of the time, you had better spend more time on your work wardrobe…

I personally love work wear, I love dressing smartly but with an edge, it can also be fun with gorgeous heels and flats alike, tailored jackets, sexy skirts, lavish blouses and structured handbags, what is not to love about that?

Monday – Not quite ready to let go of the weekend, start the week off fresh with a statement necklace and Nectar Bag

Candy Coated Pink Perfection

I havent seen so much pink around since I was a little girl.   Street style snaps of the pretty pink tones have been spotted all over the world during fashion week’s and I am surprisingly in love with all this candy coated loveliness. Coveting a few pink garments myself (I have already purchased a few) Check out some of my style steals in the coat links below too, all under £100!!

Babydoll Dress Zara //  Satchel Topshop //  Rose Gold Textured Top Topshop //Pink pocket tee J.Crew // A line skirt Whistles  //Leather heels Kurt Geiger // Coat similar at ASOS and Reiss and my favourite style steals at Topshop and ASOS

Tips: 1) Wear the babydoll dress with a pair of converse for an edgier look.  2) Wear the Leather A line skirt with a tee, KG pink shoes and Pink Satchel Bag all together for a chic monochrome look to the office. 3) Get the daytime lustre spot on with this Rose gold Topshop top, it would look amazing with white on the bottom, whether its a pair of white jeans or white tailored trousers. 4) wear your pink coat draped over the shoulders and the satchel bag as a cross body for extra fashion points 😉

Lemon Zest

Add some zest to your wardrobe with these gorgeous yellow spring tones. With a statement coat its sometimes best to keep all the rest simple and elegant, not to look too overdone.  I’ve picked out a few of my favourite yellow spring coats and of course included a little visual of an outfit option!

The first two coats would also be great with a pair of skinny jeans and the slip on sneakers I posted here. Wear a plain t-shirt underneath as the shoes and coat are quite enough together to make a statement.
