We all liked to get dressed up for special occasions, everyone has a different level (or meaning) to the phrase dressing up. For some reason I feel that Christmas is a day where you can really be adventurous and push the boat out. Im not sure whether this is because you will never be able to compete with the rife decor of Christmas so you never have to be afraid of sticking out like a sore thumb, or better yet, looking like a Christmas tree 😉
Mix and match your prints, wear a minimum of 3 colours (I dare you), wear sparkle, two chunky necklaces if you feel the need, fun shoes, you name it, put it on!
Plaid Shirt // Metallic Trousers // Lace top // Statement earrings // Silver Shoes (as seen in previous post here)
Text print jumper // Fleece Jacket // Sequinned Skirt // Ankle Boots
Skirt // Boxy Jumper // Bag // Short Velvet Jacket // Ankle Boots
Checked Shirt // Tassel earrings // Fringed skirt // Shoes (as before here)
Wool Jacket// Turtleneck jumper // Jeans (as before) // Necklace previous post here // Feather Shoes
Tassel earrings as before //Checked Shirt // Jeans // Scarf // Cable jumper
Jumper with buttons // Tartan Shoes // Leopard print clutch // Jeans as before
This last outfit has to be my favourite for Christmas lunch, I love the obvious touch of red, the tartan shoes with the touch of silver sparkle and of course the leopard clutch which just finishes off the look perfectly!
Merry Christmas all my lovely readers
I love a check (not quite as much as I love a stripe) but with all the gorgeous print popping up I thought I would share some of my favourite finds with you, and if you like them too, you can shop them right from here!
Quilted Gillet J.Crew
Rose Gingham Poncho (I will be investing in this one!) Anthropologie
Wool Scarf Matches
This one may blow the budget slightly but hey, who said we couldn’t window shop!?! Dress Matches
All this check does get me excited for winter, and at the rate we going here in London it wont be long until we start lighting those fires, cracking open the red wine and getting our check on, whether it’s a rug, a poncho, a scarf or a game of chess!
Have a happy weekend everyone.
One of the trickiest transitions when it comes to dress code when there’s no time to shower and redress for an evening out is how to go from grubby to glam! (which is normally the way when we’ve been hard at work all day, be it in meetings or running after kids up until 7pm). Anthropologie has the best array of clothing and accessories for the new season no matter what your style.
I love this light weight cotton blouse, the perfect style to smarten up a pair of jeans, the frilled hem and high neck give it such a classy feel while the print and colours keep it relaxed and fun for an evening drink. It also comes in Petite which is such a bonus! Basically if you are under 5ft3 (me on the dot) you fall into that category (i.e Short!)
This year the weather has been ruthless and has dumped us right in the middle of Autumn with no warning. Last night was cold and I was very grateful for this wool hat. The blustery weather that comes along with Autumn is the perfect time to maximise the use of the hat, not only is it so chic and finishes off an outfit so well but it keeps the fly-away hair in place.
When day turns to night, nothing quite adds that touch of glamour like a faux fur jacket, it’s simple and warm! This pale pink beauty has the most gorgeous suede cuffs and waist band and the pale pink neutral is sure to work with any evening outfit, it would look amazing over a black dress.
Of course changing over bags is a real pain and when there’s no time for that the perfect day to evening bag is something small and light but with enough space to tuck away all the “stuff” that we seem to require. This little hands free black calf hair and leather bag with a cobalt blue tassel has all the panache an evening bag needs, plus it has a two zipped sections for extra storage.
