A Touch of Turquoise

Isn’t it amazing how turquoise is always so consistent. Its almost on parr with Navy. The obvious colours like black and white are always in, navy too is always about, but Turquoise is not often a hot topic, yet it always looks so gorgeous no matter what form it comes in.  The beautiful shade comes and goes like the tides but is never unobtainable and is usually more prominent in pages of Vogue around the summer months, however its so classical and chic too when brought out in the form of a ring or necklace to add a pop of colour to a dark outfit in winter, as Cate Blanchett so gracefully showed us at the 2015 Academy Awards with her Tiffany Blue Collection necklace (below).  That was one of my favourite outfits of the night, so simple but so elegant, effective and SO glamorous!

Some of the hottest turquoise to be purchased right now, from Industrial kitchen stools to Converse & Missoni’s new collaboration Converse All Star’s (LOVE) all in my little collage of possibly my favourite colour (next to grey)….

Try adding a pop of turquoise to your decor or outfit this week and see how you will love it. The shade suits everyone! Oh and don’t forget to check out Le Creuset’s Spring 2015 collection of cool mint kitchen ware, I adore it all.

Self Portrait Obsession (but not mine..)

I have taken a little liking to a brand called Self Portrait. They don’t have a website and are based in Hoxton but they do sell on ASOS 🙂

If you are off to a wedding and looking for something with a difference, do yourself a favour and try one of these numbers out. Super chic and sexy! Check the range out here

I have chosen one dress to style up for you but have listed a few other favourites below.

Fancy Floor-skimmers

Every so often a function arises that forces us to get the long gowns out.  The length of the dress may only be to hide the lily white legs, it could be for a white tie event, the Opera or perhaps dinner with the Duchess of Cambridge, whatever the reason, when they do crop up I know it can be a task and a half to find a non-frumpy, well fitted floor length dress that wont break the bank.  If we could all wear Alexander McQueen it might be slightly easier to find, but seen as you aren’t exactly going to wear it that often (unless you are a regular at these sort of events) then it definitely is not an investment piece.  If you are one of the lucky, or unlucky (depending on how you view it) ladies that has a fancy “do” in the diary, fear not, I have done the hard work and hopefully you will slot right into one of the fabulous floor skimming finds.

The Working Week

So many people say that they don’t like spending money on work clothes and they despise getting dressed for work.  Most people work 5 day weeks, this means you spend 80% of your time at work, that’s a lot of time spent not dressing well and feeling uninspired.  So if you want to look good 100% of the time, you had better spend more time on your work wardrobe…

I personally love work wear, I love dressing smartly but with an edge, it can also be fun with gorgeous heels and flats alike, tailored jackets, sexy skirts, lavish blouses and structured handbags, what is not to love about that?

Monday – Not quite ready to let go of the weekend, start the week off fresh with a statement necklace and Nectar Bag

Stacking up them Jewels

I love stax of stacks, delicate necklaces, rings on all fingers, earring cuffs, bangles, bracelets, and general wrist accessories.  I have always loved collecting jewellery, and usually try to buy something whenever I travel to a different country.  Well I don’t exactly need to try, I just naturally gravitate towards metals and gems and then end up smitten with at least one piece that I simply have to have. My husband struggles to understand this obsession and gets very confused if not slightly annoyed when I proclaim to want yet another ring… I have started to become slightly more obsessed with acquiring jewellery so I thought I would get my fix by just browsing and sharing some of my favourites with you.
