Fringe, tassel’s, bohemian, 70’s, whatever you want, its staying! We all saw fringed pieces come onto the shelves thick and fast towards the end of last year, you are probably wondering why on earth Im talking about it now, well I can tell you for free it definitely won’t be leaving the shelves as fast as they arrived. The 70’s revival will be hanging around for some time with a strong presence come Autumn/Winter ’15 where will will see racks of rust and burnt autumnal colours which are so typical of the 70’s era. However we will not just be mixing these earthy tones with other earthy tones like browns and blacks but pairing them with fresh colours like white, cream, nude and even cerise and turquoise. Imagine a rust coloured coat with a pair of white jeans and a nude pink blouse underneath. I absolutely LOVE the combination, it is fresh and sophisticated.
I have selected a few of my favourite fringed/tasseled/bohemian pieces. Be selective when choosing your purchases, it can be easy to look a bit run of the mill with obvious trends, and it’s tricky not to sometimes when shopping on the high street I know, but think outside the box and even if it’s just another fringed bag, perhaps find the cute one with a unique embroidered print, in the not so obvious colours, or match your tri-colour fringed heels with a romantic flowing midi skirt. Combine turquoise or cerise with these earthy tones for a break in colour and extra style creds…Oh and don’t forget to throw a bit of gold metallic into the mix too – LOVE!
